Coventry is a city with a unique history and vivid, challenging examples of mediveval, modernist and 21st century architecture which shape the way the city is experienced. Disappear Here is an attempt to record, amplify and reflect these experiences from people who are born and bred in the city and visitors who come from all over the world. Now is also a good time to be looking forward and back with the city's momentous #Coventry2021 bid to become the UK City of Culture!
What You're Funding:
-To help Disappear Here access wider national and local arts funding.
-To make sure that the artists are paid to produce the best work possible.
-Running costs, such as website design, marketing, printing of poetry-film maps, film editing, meeting space costs and project management.
-Encouraging the arts and creative skills sector in the city; from current artists to the next generation of talent.
-The creation of a unique and innovative arts project that all about Coventry ringroad.
-Disappear Here will make people see the city of Coventry in a different light; whether they are new or have lived here for years.
-The project will inspire others to write/read/experience poetry in its many forms; live and on the page, as well as sparking interest in the new and developing genre of poetry films.
-Audiences will be able to attend a premiere screening of the poetry films in Coventry; we would also like to tour them across the UK once the project has been completed. There will also be perks - little ways of saying thank you to everyone who chips-in a little bit of money here and there!
